In advance of the release of Terminator: Genisys, navigation device Waze is partnering with Paramount – the studio behind the film – to bring the most iconic voice in film right into drivers’ vehicles. As of this past Monday, Arnold Schwarzenegger is lending his distinctive vocal talents to Waze turn-by-turn directions, guiding fans to their desired location in true Terminator fashion. And once the film opens on July 1, red-eyed Terminator endoskulls will appear on screen to mark nearby theaters playing the blockbuster-to-be. For Waze, the partnership is a chance to stand out from other GPS systems by leveraging arguably the most recognizable voice in the world during a window when he should be at peak relevance.  And for Paramount it’s a chance to use a unique, out of the box channel to connect the franchise with potential moviegoers, while giving fans a fun, memorable experience to boot.

The Terminator feature on Waze apps will be live through mid-July. After that, who knows? If there’s enough demand, maybe he’ll…be…back. In the meantime, check out this video of Arnold in the recording booth for Waze for a sample of the program.
