Target recently launched a new website for Halloween Trick-Or-Treaters called Treatster.
This responsive site, lets users view houses in their neighborhood that are deemed top spots for the best candy on Halloween. Users can add a house to the map (marked by a smiling pumpkin with the Target logo as one of its eyes) and “upvote” any house or storefront on the map if they agree it’s a worthy stop.
Treatster ties into Target’s YouTube campaign that launched last week called House on Hallow Hill.
While this website seems like a fantastic idea in theory, it may not reach its potential of traction launching so close to Halloween. It also relies heavily on people in neighborhoods nationwide to add houses to the map. If the site is able to pick up a good-sized user base, Treatster will have a chance at being a useful, fun tool for kids and parents on Halloween night.
