As part of its Travel Brilliantly campaign, Marriott Hotels has begun developing prototypes of ideas and innovations inspired by guests’ travels within a handful of their hotels. A recent prototype comes from a startup, Farmers Fridge, which provides healthy and fresh food options via revolutionary kiosks. Food is prepared daily and delivered to the kiosk. Unsold items are discounted in the afternoon, then donated to food pantries if still not sold by the end of day. Marriott’s end goal is to create an environment that surpasses the comforts and convenience of home while offering startups and new technology a foothold in the real world.
