Jim Beam piggybacked on the September 7th Apple iPhone 7 event with a launch of it’s own of the Jim Beam Apple Watch.
The watch, which hides a collapsible shot glass, is shown in an “official” trailer that parodies the Apple aesthetic. It slowly spins on a white background while a voiceover explains that it’s “available exclusively in green…because…some apples are green.” While the product launch is a parody, the watch is in fact for sale for the low price of $17.99 on the Jim Beam website.
Recognizing that they could legally use the phrase “Jim Beam Apple Watch” since Apple is an existing line extension was incredibly smart. Props to Olson Engage on finding the legal loophole and creating a product that hilariously pokes fun of Apple.
