GE Lighting launched a 2 minute fake infomercial yesterday to promote their new GE Link LED light bulb.

You can turn the $14.97 bulb on and off, adjust the brightness, and control timers using the Wink app on your smartphone. Jeff Goldblum stars as “Terry Quattro – famous person”, an absurdly cocky movie actor who owes all of his fame and wealth to “good lighting.” We learn more about the smartbulb, the Wink Hub, and the Wink app as Goldblum escorts us through his mansion complete with a piano-jacuzzi and a man who hands him moist towelettes from his fanny-pack. The brand launched the infomercial socially on their YouTube page and on Tim and Eric’s official Facebook page. Though it’s too early to tell, we will soon learn if the Link bulb really can transform “unremarkable nobodies” into suave and successful actors with great hair. Watch the ad on YouTube here.
