For much of the 20th century, women worldwide were banned from participating in soccer. Now, Google is asking for the public’s help to fill in the missing history of women’s soccer and create a digital museum.

According to Google, when the company tried to gather information about the history of women’s soccer, the history didn’t exist. Using media and firsthand accounts, the company wants to tell the stories of the women who defied the bans, which were created partly because of sexist myths about “masculinization,” and played soccer anyway. The “Offside Museum” will also be timed to coincide with the Women’s FIFA World Cup.

Inclusivity and women’s equality has been a hot topic among brands for a while. It makes sense for the world’s most popular search engine to use its resources and share the story of one of the world’s most popular sports from a new perspective.
