Domino’s, now equally a tech company as a pizza chain, persists in its never-ending quest to make ordering and delivering a pizza directly to its customers easier and more interactive than ever.
Like most major chains, online orders for Domino’s provides a tracker in the form of a progress bar showing the order being prepped, in the oven, quality checked, and out for delivery/pickup. Now, every item on the tracker (save for the quality check), can trigger an action in customer’s connected smart devices.
For instance, “Out For Delivery” can send a table-setting reminder alert to a phone, to turn off the front yard sprinklers, and to turn on the porch lights on or even flicker them to alert the delivery person as to which residence is yours.
While the common ordering experience might not look like the ads suggest with the activation of TV’s, music, and vacuums, this addition to Domino’s ordering experience is both useful and showcases their continuing innovative nature.
The Pizza Tracker is a handy tool, but it constantly requires you to manually check it. By shifting the experience into a more customizable and interactive experience, it makes the brand easier to use and more connected with their customers.
