In efforts to promote its new “Experiences and Places” feature, Airbnb launches live streamed, 360-degree videos that offer an inside look into local communities.

Airbnb’s series debuted in Cameroon Fusion, London, where they showed users firsthand how to cook a Cameroonian feast. Videos have also included an unforgettable tour of a home in Kauai and a local insider’s guide to the secret spots in Detroit.

As one of the first brands to take advantage of Twitter’s newly released, live 360° video,  Airbnb hopes to do more than just show new places; they intend to bring people together. By offering unprecedented access to hidden gems only locals are savvy to, they avoid the tourist route and instead attempt to create meaningful connections thousands of miles away.
