In response to the devastating floods in southern Louisiana that left thousands homeless, AirBnB has offered to waive all service fees for those affected through Sept. 4, 2016.

The company emailed the following letter to its users,

“In light of the recent events in Louisiana, we want to let you know we’ll be waiving all service fees and enabling hosts to list for free. We’ve also launched a disaster response page so you can easily connect with people in need of a place to stay.

If you choose to open your doors at a no cost basis, you’ll still be protected under Airbnb’s insurance policies, security measures, and host guarantees. Potential guests must request to stay in your space and you can decide whether or not to host them.”

The ability to activate a response system when disaster strikes enforces the brand’s already amicable reputation, establishing AirBnB as a brand that truly has your back, through the good and the bad.
