Army Strong to Share Soldiers’ Stories

March, 2011

Launched in February, Army Strong Stories is the newest of the US army’s recruitment tools. The iPhone app provides access to hundreds of soldiers’ stories; anyone with an army story can post onto the blogging platform http://armystrongstories.com/ from which the app pulls content. The U.S. Army Accessions Command labeled the app and simultaneously released mobile site “a natural extension of the Army’s ongoing commitment to engage potential recruits via social media channels.” This app not only makes it simpler for soldiers to share their stories, but also much easier for potential recruits to hear them.
