Unilever has released mobile coupons, which allow the cashier to scan consumers’ phones at the register. Users  log onto the Samplesaint.com, an online coupon service website, locate coupons and transfer them to their mobile devices.

Victoria’s Secret Mobile Commerce

Victoria’s Secret is targeting female consumers with a new mobile site,  featuring special offers and sales, easy product browsing and a store locator. It also allows consumers to locate an item from their catalog and place an order on their mobile site by entering the item number into a “Catalogue Quick Order” box. They can then use the site to check the status of its shipment. In an additional mobile service, consumers can sign up to receive SMS texts or email alerts about  products and promotions.

Vodafone Mobile Ads

Vodafone, a mobile advertising service with clients like Coca Cola, Mercedes, Nestle, Burger King, Heineken and Ikea, has extended its services to 18 countries. The company hopes to take a more interactive approach to mobile marketing. For instance, their incoming voice/text alerts service allows full-screen ads to display before consumers answer a call or check a message. Additionally, Vodafone’s zonal marketing service allows customers to receive MMS or SMS messages that are relevant to their preferences and their current location.

Kraft Mobile Site

Kraft Foods is launching a new mobile site that provides consumers with recipes, meal ideas and shopping lists. It will feature a “recipe of the day” and a database of recipes complete with detailed instructions and ingredient lists.

MSNBC Rachel Maddow Application

MSNBC targets core consumers with an application specifically linked to the popular “The Rachel Maddow Show.” This free app, available at the Apple App Store, allows consumers to see Maddow’s view on the top news topics on their mobile device. The Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) in the UK is targeting teens, ages 15-18, with the hopes of decreasing the national rate of teen pregnancy and STDs. As a solution, the organization developed “thmbnls,” a 22-episode mobile soap opera designed to teach safe sex. Teens can go to the mobile site to watch the series and chat with the cast and other viewers.

Coca-Cola “Baseball Superstars”

Along with rich graphics, consumers monitor tire wearm and fuel levels as they race. Launched to coincide with the documentary “Truth in 24” the app by the same name will give consumers a front row seat to the excitement. Competing against not only the clock but other racers, consumers become part of the race and give Audi a great promotional opportunity.

American Airlines “On the Move”

Visitors to the sweepstakes’ website can read about American Airlines’ mobile site and enter to win prizes like a trip to Los Angeles or Nokia N95 phones.
